My Neighbor Totoro is an classic for an freakin reason

this has been the most iconic and talked about film in the entire catalog of Studio Ghibil's filmography, even growing up i have always heard about this film, i think i have seen it but i'm unsure if i did but this is by far my favorite of theirs (which kinda isn't saying much now since it's the third of this marathon) but My Neighbor Totoro is easily one of my new favorite animated films and films period, where their previous film i've seen was depressed, sad and heartbreaking and most likely an one and done for me, this one is basically filled with imagination, feel goodness and childlike wonder and one i can see myself coming back to and rewatching over and over again, the animation is as breathtaking as their previous films, the characters (whether it's the kids and the creatures) are beautiful and breathtaking and adorable and relatable, the environments are wonderful, the writing is some of the best ever put to animation, the music is beautiful, the themes and messages it touches upon are some of the most relatable shit i ever felt in an Animated film, it's hilarious, joyful, made me feeling some crazy emotions throughout (especially with how good i felt after seeing it), it's charming in the best ways, Totoro is one of my new favorite characters in recent memory, it's simply beautiful in every sense of the word :)
