Iron Man is still one of the best MCU films

i have always rewatched just about every MCU film, they are some of the most entertaining and rewatchable films out there, sometimes it is hard to overlook the actual very first film that started it all and that is the very first Iron Man directed by Jon Faverau (who also plays Happy Hogan and is an great actor and director) and depsite a lot of the other great films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this film is still hailed as one of the true best MCU films and for damn good reason, i am always back and forth on whether this is an A+ or an A film clearly from Terrence Howard but he has grown on me here, Robert Downey Jr for being his first performance as this now iconic beloved character Tony Stark/Iron Man who is kind of an dick and asshole but Downey makes him an likeable dick and asshole as they do develop him and they give you reasons on why he is the way he is and for being his first performance, he knocks it out of the park, Howard again has grown on me for his only performance as Rhodey, Gwyneth Paltrow also does an great job at her first performance as Pepper Potts who is one of the better love interests out there and Jeff Bridges does an great job here and is also an pretty underrated villain, the film is also even funnier than i remember, the score was also pretty great as well, the visual effects are also still some of the best of the MCU, Faverau did an fantastic job in terms of directing some unique and different as the film feels different than most superhero films at this time, especially with the action sequences and still has an few of the most iconic shots in the whole MCU, the character interactions are top-notch, it hits every needed emotion that it goes for and while it doesnt have the high stakes that most MCU films do down the road, the stakes are still here with an great third act battle and of course you cant forget about the post-credits scene here that changed everything forever not just in the MCU but with films in general

overall the first Iron Man still kicks ass and is still one of the true best of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and still an fantastic start to an amazing universe of films :)
