as someone who is kinda more of an causal fan of Sonic (depsite not playing much of his games) the Sonic The Hedgehog movie was surprisingly an whole lot of fun
Sonic as an whole was sooo great and his fixed design really fits very well and he's basically what the character should be and the person who voiced him was fantastic, James Marsden was even pretty good and i liked the simple back and forth between them, Jim Carrey dought easily steals every scene hes in as Dr Robotink as i thought he would be, the humor is well-done, the visual effects and action sequences are great, the pacing is well-done, the music is well-done, i was simply smiling throughout the runtime
now, the film is incredibly cliched, the story is basically any road trip film you have seen, it doesnt have the greatest human characters (even if they are better than most in these type of films) some jokes do fall flat (mainly from the fact this film is more geared towards kids), there are also an couple of plot points that kinda just dropped and i did wish it explored an couple of aspects an bit more
but i still have fun with the film, this isnt anything that is going to blow your mind or anything but for what it is, it was an blast, one of the better video game adaptations and if we were to get an sequel to this film i wouldnt mind especially with the two great post-credits scenes it has
