Leigh Whannells latest directorial effort, from an great sequel in Insidious: Chapter 3, to an amazing action film with Upgrade, to an incredible tense-filled and terrifying horror thriller thats an reboot of an classic monsters story and knocks it out of the park and makes Whannell one of my new favorite directors working today, a lot of it is thanks to his outstanding directing and filmmaking techquines, incredible and outstanding sound design that enchanes when creep and scary stuff happens, scares that are effective and dont rely on the cheap gimmicks used in horror films today, excellent performances from its supporting cast but especially Elisabeth Moss who display every bit of emotion needed for this character along with great characters all around, an immersive and beautiful score that enhances the scenes its used effectively combine that with well-told and serious messages on abusive relationships, an engaging mystery, some effective twists and turns you never see coming and you have an fantasticly effective film that nails every aspect it goes for and its easily my new best film of 2020 so far :)
